We’re Hungry
We, of course, have a need for those distinguished food critics and restaurant reviewers in the big cities. We love to read what they have to say, but most of us aren’t going to find ourselves needing a critique of a $200.00 a plate restaurant in New York City.
Not that I am an expert on food and all the different tastes and textures and what exotic spices I savored when I placed the morsel on my palette. But, I do know what tastes good, whether a restaurant was clean and had good service, whether the food was good, and the workers happy and friendly.
For the most part, in our travels, when we eat out we try to find a nice little restaurant or sidewalk cafe that reflects the culture of the area. More often than not, we see an old familiar billboard and, as weary travelers, take a quick detour to grab something to eat.
Our reviews will be for the eating establishments that we encounter in our trek around America. From fast food to familiar restaurants to sometimes fine dining; we’ll tell it like it is when we visited a particular place. As former owners of an eating establishment and constant travelers needing a bite to eat, there are certain expectations that we have placed on a restaurant: Friendly employees (Chris has always said that if the employees all look unhappy and cranky, it’s the managements fault), fast service, an attentive waiter/waitress, clean dining area and restrooms, hot food is hot; cold food is cold, and a good experience overall. If we find a place that is above and beyond those expectations, we will place them in our STOP HERE blog for an added bonus. A generally bad overall experience will earn a STEER CLEAR blog.
Any recommended eating establishments that can be passed on is always welcome!
Enjoy!
